Introduction to inductors

Inductors are devices that create and manipulate magnetic fields and are one of the basic devices commonly used in the field of electrical engineering. Because inductors have special functions that cannot be replaced by integrated circuits, such as noise reduction and filtering, frequency selection and transforming signal peaks, they are widely used in power electronics, communications, automation control, medical and other fields.Magnetic loop Inductor

The basic structure of an inductor is a part of a conductor coil wound around a magnetic core. When a current is passed through the conductor coil, an electromagnetic field is formed, which has magnetic energy, and it is the charge stored within the inductor, also known as inductance.Rod Inductor
Introduction to inductors
The inductance of an inductor is the amount of change in the electrical energy stored in the conductor coil as the current changes. When the current changes, the electromagnetic energy stored in the conductor coil also changes, which results in an electrical potential difference at both ends of the inductor. This potential difference is called the induced potential, which is in the opposite direction to the magnetic field when the current changes. This is a device that uses the laws of electromagnetic induction to store electrical energy.

Normally, the inductance of an inductor is determined at the time of design as required. The greater the inductance of the inductor, the greater its ability to store stored energy. Generally, inductors are measured in units of Henry, H. Commonly used are mH and uH. The most common role of inductors in electrical circuits is that of Filters. The characteristics of the inductor are used to separate signals of different frequencies, thus achieving a filtering effect.Flat Inductor

In addition to storing energy and filtering, inductors can also perform a variety of circuit functions such as transforming peak signals, matching networks and common mode suppression.
